  • Read Acts 2:23-24 and 4:10-12. How was he rejected by men? (Acts 2:23)

  • Why is he precious and chosen by God? (Acts. 2:23; 4:12)

  • Why is Jesus described as a “living” stone? (Acts 2:24; 4:10)


  • Read and reflect on Psalm 118, noting verses 22-24.

  • Listen to Cornerstone by Hillsong Worship and spend a few moments thanking the Lord for his steadfast, enduring love revealed in Jesus, the Chief Cornerstone.


  • Jesus said, “I have come to cause division (Lk. 12:49-53). Is there anyone in your family you can pray for that they would find Jesus as their cornerstone?

  • Read 1 Cor. 1:18-25. What are some stumbling blocks for unbelievers you know. How can you help them overcome those things?


  • Read 1 Cor. 6:19-20. How is the believer described?

  • Read 2 Cor. 6:14-16. How is the body of believers described?

  • Read Eph. 2:19-22. What is our foundation? (v20) and who is doing the building? (v22)


  • Read Rom 12:1-2 & Heb 13:15.

  • What sacrifices are we instructed to make?

  • Have you sacrificed and what did it cost (2 Sam. 24:24)? If it didn’t, was it a sacrifice?


  • Proclaiming the praises (v9): Do you like to sing? Why do you think singing is commanded in scripture? What worship song is particularly meaningful to you right now?

  • Read Eph. 5:18-20 and Col. 3:16. Observe how the Holy Spirit is linked to sung worship.


  • Read Eph. 2:1-7. What have we been saved by (v8), through (v8), and for (v10)?

  • As part of the body of Christ, each of us was once in darkness and has been called into his marvelous light (1 Pet. 2:9). In what ways has the Lord Jesus call you out of darkness and into his marvelous light?

  • Take some time to write out your testimony to practice sharing it with those who don’t yet know Jesus.
