DAY 1
What is the purpose of God in hard times read Jam. 1:2-4 & Rom. 5:3-5. Remember some hard times, did you grow spiritually?
DAY 2
Do you expect persecution? Have you ever suffered for wrongdoing? Resolve to suffer only for Jesus in you. To share in the sufferings of Christ (cf. Col 1:24) is not to suffer for sin, but rather as His witness.
DAY 3
Look at the character of God: Faithful (v19). Read 2 Tim 2:13, how is He faithful? Read the song of Moses in Deut. 32 to find out.
God is always faithful to His Children – has He ever disciplined you (Heb. 12:7-8)?
DAY 4
Think of some ways we respond wrongly to suffering.
How should we suffer (v16,19)? Read Acts 16:11-40 to see how Paul and Silas responded?
We must live joyful Christian lives! Listen to There Is Joy In The Lord by Cheri Keaggy and worship the Lord with gladness!
DAY 5
What is the outcome for those who do not obey the Gospel (i.e., believe on Jesus Christ – cf. John 6:28-29)?
Is God judging the church in the West, our church, you? Who do we rely on? Alone? (Ps. 20:7; 33:17)
DAY 6
Write some of the other names for the Spirit of Glory who rests upon you and read of His ministry in you (Jn 14:15-26, 16:7-15, 2 Cor 3:3-18, Gal 5:16-26).
DAY 7
“To suffer according to God’s will” (v19). God’s will is general and specific for us and for me! God is not heartless, He is trying to form Christ in us, and he suffered!! Am I prepared to suffer, as God wills, so that I can be like Christ?
Listen to Goodness of God by Bethel Music. Thank the Lord for his goodness at all times in and in every circumstance.
